GLOSSIER ATLANTA
Project Info
Ponce City Market, February 2020
Role: Senior Retail Designer
Atlanta is a vibrant and colorful city known for it music culture, delicious food, and southern hospitality. It is also an incredibly important city to the ongoing history of music with countless famous music artists starting and establishing their careers in Atlanta. The design for Glossier Atlanta explores a concept of music and sound through a physical translation of geometry, form, texture light and shadow. The customer journey is defined by a series of rooms that alternate between two distinct yet complimentary material palettes. Ten foot tall sculptural wall speakers with integrated lighting are the backdrop for product testing, creates subtle curves and soft peachy-pink gradients. Custom acoustical wall panels cover the surfaces between two foot thick thresholds and double sided interior window details mimic the designs found in recording studio and vocal booths.
GLOSSIER MIAMI
Project Info
Wynwood Miami, March 2019
Role: Senior Design Lead
Glossier Miami draws from two of the city’s most vibrant design themes, art deco and the city’s vibrant Latin influence. The pastel set emulates the formal language of art deco, while details of fruit and tropical elements tie in to the city’s vibrant cultural. The interior was conceived as an inside out streetscape and was built like a stage set, welcoming the busy flow of pedestrians who were exploring the outdoor galleries of the Wynwood Walls. Through colors, textures, and geometric details, the design pays homage to Miami’s unique architectural landscape. Jacquie Comrie was to design and paint a mural, enabled the store to contribute to the colorful urban landscape that defines the Wynwood neighborhood.
GLOSSIER AUSTIN
Project Info
South Congress Ave, August 2019
Role: Senior Design Lead
Glossier Austin is the ultimate beauty destination and roadside attraction. The site was located on South Congress, one of the city’s most vibrant and bustling stretches. With a larger-than-life exterior, the store embodies a familiar representation of local signage welcoming visitors even before they walk through the door. On the roof, a custom blowup replica of three giant lipsticks create an iconic and eye catching display. A colorful sign referencing vintage diner graphics directs busy highway traffic to the store. The interior is layered with pastel colors and natural textures such as rock and concrete. Integrated lighting details add a soft glow highlighting the geometries and millwork. Communal terraced seating allowed customers to gather around and take their time in the space as they explore Glossier’s full product line.
